"Little Girls With Dreams Become Women With Vision" -My Dream/Vision Board

Hello, Everyone!
It feel like I long time has gone by since I've actually done a lifestyle post that I'm 100% in love with. The reason being that Lifestyle posts are generally the ones in which my true creative senses come out, and I love seeing the finished product play out to be precisely the way I envisioned it in my head.
That being said, I literally dedicated all morning into creating the perfect Dream/Vision board for myself.

I decided to hand write and place everything because I am an extremely visual person and I captivate ideas easier if I do it that way. The board in which I placed everything on was purchased from HomeGoods for about $15.

At the top of my Board I have Proverbs 3:5,6 which states that your should trust in God instead of relying on your own understanding and he will surely make your paths straight.
Right below that I have my subscriber Goals for Youtube, and "No Debt" reminding me to save more and spend less,
A jet setter sticker right next to the places that I want to travel to within the year 2015.

Next to that I wrote down five quotes that are guaranteed to make me feel better on a horrible day.

Below that I have some tips on how to be a successful Blogger that I cut out from a TeenVogue magazine as well as two cutouts. The first saying: "Haters Gonna Hate" because for every 1 person that supports me on this journey there are atleast 10 that dont.
And the Second saying: "I'm not going to be a prisoner in my room" referring to a life of ordinance that most people tend to live when in reality they should be going out there and searching for the next best thing. So, I strategically put a sticker below it that says, "Going Places"

And finally, next to that I have a list of Goals that I wish to accomplish, another list of things that I would like to buy, and a reminder of the three things that I would like to professionally categorize myself under.

I hope this post was useful to you in someway and that you got to gain some inspiration for your 2015!

Design Inspiration for My Future Place | Elizabeth Martinez

First of all, I would just like to start off by apologizing for my lack in posts. I mean 10 days without putting anything on this blog is just absolutely unacceptable but also unintentional. When I returned from my short vacation I had so many ideas for posts and videos and I am still really excited but unfortunately my lens broke and I have been waiting ever since for my new ones to get in from the post. Although purchasing a lens did set me back some, financially I was happy to do so for the love of my hobbies. I should be receiving them any time today or tomorrow!

To keep me entertained while literally being camera-less I have been inspecting the world of interior design. Being that I am turning 20 in nearly a month I decided that I want to keep changing and improving my life. With that comes getting my own place and I could not be happier. I have already made my first trip to Ikea, picked up a few bits to make it all seem real, and then ran home to further take notes inside of my catalog. I feel like I know the direction that I want to go in and I really cannot be happier.

So, today I'm going to show you all the direction in which I want to take my bedroom.
Very minimalistic, modern, yet comforting.

I definitely want to center the color scheme around whites and greys as that makes the space that I would be working with appear to be larger than it really is.

What are your favorite Designs or inspirations?

What's In My Bag | School Days

Hello, Everyone! Is it just me or do you also find yourself interested in what other people consider to be their "Must have" items in their bags/purses?

I for one, feel extremely impressed with people who can leave the house with just their keys and their wallet while I have to leave with a little bit of everything.

As you can see above I carry ALOT of stuff! But please keep in mind that I am a full time college student who wakes up at 7:30 am, does her makeup in the car, gets really hungry during the day, and uses up her battery within the first two hours.
Plus, I need keys,
a planner so I don't miss anything,
a headband because I'm a Floridian with frizzy hair and sometimes the fly aways are too much,
a wallet because I might need to buy something,
and My iPad because it comes in handy when my professor is going through the lecture really fast and I didn't get to jot down everything I wanted.
Pretty much the most basic school bag ever, but It's also extremely Truthful!

What are some things you can't live without in your bag?

A Few Ways to Organize Your Life

1) Purchase a Planner/Day Runner

Something that I will always and forever preach about is investing money into a planner; whether it cost you $7 at Target or $50 custom made at an online shop I highly suggest you purchase one. I never knew the difference they would make in my life until one of my 10th grade teachers made it a requirement in her classroom and ever since then I can honestly say, that I haven't gone a day without one.

Inside my planner, I write down my work schedule for the week (for obvious reasons), my bills for that week, and any other miscellaneous responsibilities that I have to look forward to. I have built a routine for myself in which I separate my bills into two lists, one for the first paycheck of the month and the second for the other; This allows me to not get super overwhelmed, yet always keep track of what I can and cannot spend. Being a blogger is especially overwhelming because we tend to crave innovation, we're always looking for the next best thing which can be highly useful for our blog yet increasingly problematic for our wallets which is why I set up monthly allowances for strictly 'blogging' purposes.

Speaking of Blogging, Does anyone else consider this to be like the coolest job/hobby ever? This leads to my second tip:

2) Don't lose contact with what brings you joy for the sake of sticking to a schedule

Sometimes it's hard to find a balance between considering this a job or a hobby simply because in my head it's a hobby that I want to turn into a job. One of the most efficient ways of keeping my sanity is pre-planning the topics that I want to talk about but never pre-writing them unless I really, really have to. This helps me consider this a job due to my strict posting schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday yet also consider this a hobby by continuing to serve the excitement that I feel every time I write up a new post.

I would be lying if I said that on some Tuesday nights I don't sit on my bed, scratching my head, while trying to come up with SOMETHING for the following day because lets be honest, it happens. Something that has really helped me is planning topics ahead of time which requires writing them down in a list formation, and whenever I feel a little lost I can go to my notepad and pick something from the list that most excites me. If for some reason I don't feel particularly motivated to post then I just wont. I never want to give anyone something that I didn't think was 'ready' or 'good enough' and this applies to all aspects of life and career paths. Giving myself 'in-between' blogging days as well as weekends gives me time to refresh and come up with new ideas, I've been writing for enjoyment since I can last remember, believe me when I say that I know what writers block is and it ain't pretty.

3) You can't buy any more time, so be a little selfish and invest the one you've got in yourself

Yes, I understand that it's easier said than done but actually separating time for yourself is a big part of organizing your life. Remember that it is YOUR life, YOUR sanity, and no one knows your happiness or weaknesses better than you do. I am a strong advocate for pamper days/evenings- alone or with a close friend (but mostly alone). Use your time wisely by relaxing and meditating on your own persona, once you clear your own mind, you can tackle outside demons but it's hard to think straight with other things clouding your judgment.

                                                                                              4) Don't overwhelm yourself

It's really, really hard to admit that we CAN'T do something (especially as women) but sometimes we really just can't. I'd say it's actually within our nature to feel like we can conquer the world because I suppose that if we really tried we actually could but in reality we're all just human and if we couldn't beat a battle it doesn't necessarily mean that we lost the war. Admitting to ourselves our own weaknesses is a huge STEP to organizing our lives because we're weeding out all of the bad and simply trying to cultivate the good.

Obviously I'm no life expert and there's a million other ways to go about this process but through trial and error I feel as though the steps mentioned above are the ones that have worked best for me. The first one is obviously technical while the others focus more on inner peace and strength.
