Lippie Swatches (MAC + BITE + Makeup Forever)

The week of Black Friday was a week of craze for me as I imagine it was for you, also. Needless to say though, that I could not possibly be happier with my purchases. Specifically my new Lippies.

I as always purchased new lip sticks while I was away in the Bahamas because 'Tax Free' means 'Go crazy'.
From Left to Right: Velvet Teddy, Russian Red, Exclusive Event, Styled in Sepia
From Top to Bottom: Styled in Sepia, Exclusive Event, Russian Red, and Velvet Teddy

Velvet Teddy and Russian Red are two colors that I have been lusting after for so long now, and Styled in Sepia was one of those impulse buys that you never counted on but still mean the world to you.
Exclusive Event was a gift from a dear friend who knows me like the back of her hand.

Next up was a lip duo that I got from Sephora from Makeup Forever called "Get Glossy"

Pink Shade is D14 and Nude Shade is D16
These are both super glossy and shiny hints the name of the set, and if applied them over matte lipsticks and the effect it has on them is GORGEOUS.

Finally I roamed into the land of Bite Beauty when I saw that they had a mini trio set at part of their Black Friday deals and they are so so so so beautiful!

From Top to Bottom: Rambutan, Strawberry, Currant

I used Rambutan in a recent Youtube video where I recreated Kim Kardashian's makeup look and it looks absolutely stunning if you guys want to check that out here is the video:

Hope You guys enjoyed these swatches let me know if any of these tickle your fancy!

All the Love, xxx

Everyday Work Makeup-Look | Tutorial

First off, this is technically my first time showing my bare face to a wide audience- so stay with me I know it's scary, But I wanted to show you all a step by step picture, makeup, tutorial- type of thing about my REALISTIC everyday workday makeup.

Yes I do realize that I did not use a primer or a setting powder because it's really easy to forget when you're rushing for work and as I stated above, I'm aiming for reality here.

First thing I do is apply a good foundation, especially if I know that I'm going to be at work for 8+ hours and I need something reliable. So today I used my Maybelline Super Stay Foundation in the color 'nude'. I hear that this is their most popular shade, because the range only has about 5-6 colors to choose from and this one is the most versatile. I completely agree, this blends into my skin beautifully covering up some imperfections yet still allowing my skin to breathe.

Second thing I do is tame my brows. I use a regular dark brown eye shadow- this routine changes constantly but my brows pretty much always end up the same. On occasion if I have an extra minute I'll go over them with Maybelline's brow gel.

For shadow I'm using a standard NYC eye quad that consists of neutral colors which are what I tend to lean on most when I have to go to work. These colors are not extremely pigmented but lately I've just been reaching for this palette like crazy because it just gets the job done.

To complete my eye look I trace my water line with a black eyeliner pencil from a company called 'Starlet' and then apply one coat of both Maybelline's Mega Plush & Colossal Mascaras.

A step that I barely ever miss is concealing/highlighting. Again, the concealer used to do this process changes all of the time but for the past couple of weeks I have been OBSESSED with Maybelline Instant Age rewind in the lightest shade. It gives me extra coverage AND highlights all in one.

Next, I bronze and color my cheeks with Benefit Hoola (I use this everyday and I still  have not hit pan on it, Amazing right? ) and NYX blush in Mauve.

Lastly, what I consider to be the most important step: my lips. I line a little outside of my natural lip line with MAC's Whirl and then fill them in with MAC's Cosmo. This lip combo is perfection and long wearing.

And, voila I no longer look like a corpse!

If They've Turned Ugly, It Means I Love Them

For a few weeks now I've been going back and forth on whether or not I should do monthly favorites or just show you what I love every now and then when a product really sticks out in my mind. So, I decided to go with the second option because that seems to be more reasonable and honest.
So for months now I have been utilizing these babies night and day no matter what the occasion is, I can honestly say that they are used EVERYDAY!

To start out I'd like to talk about the infamous CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation I believed the hype on this the second I saw the first Youtube video but MAN is this even better in real life! I have amazing coverage with just one application but if I'm working a long 6-8 hour shift I either put two applications of this foundation or change the second application to the CoverGirl TruBlend Liquid Makeup. The reason I do this is because the Stay Fabulous Foundation is completely matte so on the days that I want a more glowy look I'll add on a foundation that has dewy finish.

The Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo in 'Tough as Taupe' has been my savior FOREVER! literally for like the past 2 years, I'm actually getting ready to toss it because I can barely get anything out of it. I love using a dark color base on an everyday basis because I love seeing the difference that it make to a bronze or gold shadow. It actually make the colors appear more pigmented which then makes my eyes look extra glamorous without really having to do anything. Magic.

Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara is a product that I found about 3 months ago when I noticed that my brows weren't staying in place in picture which is a big NO-NO. I went online to search for the best product and this came up to be the most effective and inexpensive option; I bought it and love it! I can definitely tell that I'm getting good use out of it because it's slowly turning from clear to light brown which is disgusting but makes me sooo happy!

The reason it's turning that color is because I put the gel on top of my brow powder which I wish I could link to you all but sadly I think it's been discontinued. For .99 cents I have never enjoyed a makeup product this much, I've been using it for years and it doesn't run out! I just recently hit pan on it about a month ago.

A lipstick that I will never be able to live without it is MAC's Ruby Woo. This is my holy grail, can't live without, live and breathe for lipstick. Extremely red, flattering and long lasting, anything you could ever wish for! It is a bit difficult to get used to when you first get it because I do consider it to be a true matte shade, as in not even a little bit of smooth appearance.

Another product that I wish I could link for you guys is the CoverGirl LipSlick's. Sadly they have been discontinued as well and I have no idea why. They are so creamy and long wearing, I wish that they would re-package them and bring them back to life so that I could stock up! This is my "my lip color but better' product. It just accentuates my face when I need something to top off a look and it just makes me feel good all around :)

MAC Haul | June 2014

So a few days ago I found myself lounging in bed with a Laptop on my... Lap lol and I was forced to do some online shopping. I mean really, who spends the entire morning watching beauty videos and reading about reviews and DOESN'T cave in???

It's impossible for me, although I have been good for a longtime-Especially with MAC.
The last time I bought anything from MAC was a year ago about two weeks after my graduation, I went on a trip to Naples and found myself in a CCO. If you don't know what that is it's basically where you get high end makeup for a bit cheaper due to there being too many at the local store or Limited edition collections didn't sell that well. Anyway point is I spent around $120 and bought A LOT of stuff so I didn't really find the need to until recently.

I do have a lot of eye shadows and lipsticks but I find that the ones that I go for the most are MAC. Not because I intend to just because I feel like they finish off my look better than others.

Surprisingly though I found a semi empty MAC quad the other day (the day I was peer pressured to buy more) and I had completely forgotten about it. They were the first MAC products I had ever purchased about 3 years ago a long with the limited edition Wonder Woman Blue palette and I just buried them and never really played with it.

So, I decided to start filling it up slowly with another shade that is equally as beautiful and make it into a customized  "shimmer" palette which you will see down below. (Excuse the extremely old packaging... I did tell you it was buried)

The new Color I bought was the green shade called "Swimming" and the one that was previously owned is called "Trax".

Along with wanting to grow my MAC eye shadow collection I also wanted to grow my Lip Collection and these two products I had been eyeing for a verrrrry long time. "Heroine" lipstick and "Whirl" lipliner- which is said to be what Kylie Jenner wears on her lips and we all know we want lips that look like they were sculpted by God himself, so I caved.
P.S- You can tell I was really excited about getting these in the mail because My lipstick still had sweat around it from being inside the delivery truck.

And lastly, I couldn't possibly buy anything without taking a peek at the Kelly Osbourne collection and the only thing that really caught my eye was the brow duo in "Morning Mister Magpie" because the colors were perfect for my brows BUT I could also use them as eye shadows if i'm running short on time and need something quick to take with me and use on-the-go.
One down fall that I will say is that the packaging reminds me of the plastic they used to use on Barbie things like her bags and shoes- I know weird comparison but it's nearly impossible to open and I don't recommend doing so with freshly painted nails. Maybe it's just mine and other than that I am extremely pleased :)
